About the artwork
Most of the images on this website are digital scans of photographic prints. In some cases
the scanned image has been digitally manipulated. In a few cases the original image was taken with a digital camera.
In all cases, the image that you see on the webpage is a rough approximation of the original image. The
resolution, and hence the size of the electronic file, must be kept small so that it does not take too long to download
into your computer.
To use an analogy...the images on this webpage are like the TV image from your VCR. If you purchased an unsigned
UltraChrome print, it would be like DVD quality. The best quality are the signed photographic prints, which
would be like HDTV quality from a digital video source. Both the signed photographic prints, and the unsigned 2200P
prints have better resolution and tonal range than can be seen on you computer.
A number of the images in this collection are taken from places in Europe such as Giverny, Kew Gardens, and Hampton court,
while others are from locations in the United States such as Long Island, upstate New York, and central Ohio.
